What Does Parapsychology Have to Do With Paranormal Investigation?

What is Parapsychology? The definition of #Parapsychology is a field of study concerned with the investigation of paranormal and psychic phenomena, which include telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, near-death experiences, reincarnation, apparitional experiences, and other paranormal claims. How does parapsychology have anything to do with paranormal investigations, research, or anything paranormal? Parapsychology helps to define abilities that are not normally experienced or seen in most humans. The people who have these abilities are a great help in investigations of the paranormal. The Clair’s There are many different types of “gifts” a person may have, commonly referred to as “The Clair’s.”  This collective word phrase includes any or all types of psychic sensitivity corresponding to the senses: seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, tasting, touching. #Clair Senses in psychic terms are translated: clairvoyance, #clairaudience, #clairsentience, #clairscent, #clairtangency, and #clairgustance. The most commonly used one of these in paranormal investigations is the clairvoyance. However, they all could play a role in finding out what actually happened at a place that is known to be, or not known to be, spiritually active. Clairsentience is the psychic sensing. Those who have this gift can find out what happened at an investigation site by sensing the energy in the air, the ground, or the objects in the building and then explaining this to the people around them to help with the investigation and hopefully get more answers via EVP (electronic voice phenomena) or “hits” on the other devices. Also, empaths can feel and sometimes take on the emotions of people around them, sometimes without even wanting to. This can help when a spirit comes unexpectedly into the auric field, or energy bubble, of an investigator with this gift. How can Parapsychology help in a paranormal investigation? The use of parapsychology can help tremendously in a paranormal investigation. The answers to this are almost endless, from the feeling of Empathy that can come from a spirit trying to connect and vary to mediumship and the actual ability to communicate with the spirit.

Momo: Viral Hoax, Deadly Curse and the Dark Side of the Internet

#Momo is real; as real as we allow her to be. In case you missed the brief flurry of articles and news reporters that appeared earlier this year, Momo is a frightening, disfigured female with a distorted, human like face and birdlike body who, reportedly, suddenly appeared in the middle of YouTube videos intended for young #children. Momo appears to gaze directly into the camera, an uncomfortable and sudden sight for any adult to see, let alone a child. Possession or Not? Whispers began to circulate that once a child viewed a video featuring Momo, he or she would be possessed by Momo’s demonic spirit, spurring what became known as “the Momo #Challenge,” which would ultimately lead to the child committing #suicide to appease Momo. Rumors of the Momo Challenge spread like wildfire thanks to social media, stirring up a brief but frenzied panic, with parents urging other parents to monitor what their children are watching on YouTube (um, shouldn’t we be doing that anyway?). Post after post appeared with stories of young children committing suicide as a result of the challenge, though subsequent investigations failed to find any actual documented cases of the Momo Challenge resulting in any deaths, suicide attempts or otherwise. The Wave of Internet Hysteria Later, a Japanese artist would admit that he created Momo as an artistic #experiment, and destroyed “her.” Momo was a farce that resulted in a brief wave of #internet hysteria, and it was a success in a very morbid sense of the world. The Momo Challenge is not the first “suicide challenge” to go viral. Prior to Momo, there was “the #Blue Whale Challenge,” rumored to have originated in Russia, which includes the completion of 50 tasks and also culminates in suicide. However, the truth behind the Blue Whale Challenge is heavily disputed. So, for argument’s sake, let’s say that both the Momo and Blue Whale Challenges are fake, and that (fortunately), no young people have actually lost their lives thanks to the production and circulation of an ill-advised “artistic experiment” or viral video. What is known is that dangerous trends do spread online which can indeed hurt children and teens. Take, for example, the number of young people who have lost their lives attempting to take selfies in dangerous situations (i.e. from great heights or so forth). Or, other seemingly dumb yet harmful trends like the cinnamon challenge, the fire challenge, the Tide Pod challenge, or the trend of smoking alcohol, which can land you in the hospital (Google it if you must, but under no circumstances attempt these ridiculously reckless stunts). What is the Bottom Line? The bottom line is that while Momo and the Blue Whale Challenge are undoubtedly disturbing and frightening, especially in an era when it feels like a losing battle to protect our children from the content they view online, Momo and the Blue Whale are not nearly as dangerous as popular, reckless viral trends that teens and adolescents are drawn to in order to gain views and likes online. How to combat this? Perhaps by having a frank and honest discussion about why taking dangerous selfies and videos is simply not worth it. Momo may not be able to touch our children, but fear, anxiety, peer pressure, insecurity and loneliness certainly can.

Discrepancies of the Evidence at Pauly Jail

Bullock County Jail aka #Pauly Jail in #Union Springs, AL What mystery involves previous the inmates of the infamous Pauly Jail aka Bullock County Jail Museum in Union Springs, #Alabama? Do they linger on there? Discrepancies of the Evidence With two inmates that are rumored to have been executed in the jail, I would like to offer something for the reader to think about when reading over the evidence that is presented by others in their investigations of the old jailhouse. “One of the oldest surviving jails in the state, the Pauly Jail, was erected in 1897 and used, as a film set in 2004, is a three-story red brick structure.” http://www.unionspringsalabama.com/Pauly-Jail.html #Pauline McCoy Many have reported seeing or finding evidence of a Pauline McCoy at Pauly Jail. Pauline was convicted of the murder of a young woman of 14 years old and accused of doing this over a coat. How can this be when she was hung in 1888, which is 9 years before the erection of Pauly Jail? This is my source: The Daily Picayune, October 13, 1888 (page 3) The Daily Picayune had supplied a scanty few additional details from Pauline’s supposed jailhouse confession a few weeks before (September 5, 1888) Also, you will find this statement on the website for Union Springs: “The Bullock County Jail of 1897 replaced the jail of 1868, which stood on West Hardaway Street” http://www.unionspringsalabama.com/Pauly-Jail.html #Aberdeen Johnson Aberdeen Johnson is another of the inmates of Pauly Jail that met his death but was it at the jail or somewhere else? He is also said to use the name Walker too. #Webb Paranormal Group has some doubt after being at the jail for the last two seasons searching for evidence and many trips to the libraries. Let’s look at the discrepancies of the evidence below. Read this Excerpt: A shot rang out as the mob marched along half a mile south of town and it was found that a young man has wounded the #negro in the right hip with a double-barrel derringer. He managed, however, to keep moving and was marched on for over two miles. A halt was made at the railroad track and a discussion had as to whether to take the black criminal on to the scene of his crime, where the object of his lust could see him, or whether to hang him at once.  The negro was getting weak from the wound and there was a rumor that soldiers were on a special train sent out from Montgomery, so it was decided to hang him to a tree on the outside of the road. A dozen men took Johnson to the tree. Then an old man, probably 65 years old, climbed the tree and hauled away on the rope which was soon made fast. The order was given for everyone who wished to take a shot at the negro to line up and when the old man got out of the tree probably 150 shots were fired into his body. As far as can be learned the negro did not confess.  http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/link.php?action=detail&id=86347 This newspaper article states he was marched “along half a mile south of town” One mile is 5280 feet divided by half is 2640 feet. I have marked a black line on this map from Pauly Jail to an area a half mile south of the Pauly Jail which is way past the train tracks area that was removed. You will see it is way past the City Cemetery, which is where the red arrow is pointing too. I do not see how he was hanged in the cemetery. He is not even buried in this cemetery either. He is buried in Beat 3. I am not sure where it is but it is not in the old City Cemetery just a few feet over from Pauly Jail. There have been many tales over the years of the happenings at the infamous Pauly Jail. It is our duty to search for the truth and report the evidence that we each find ourselves. We do not rely on the rumors of others. Webb Paranormal Group seeks to go beyond just listening to rumors by performing in-depth research using many techniques. Good research is just the beginning of dispelling such Discrepancies of the Evidence.

Columbia Manor-One of Alabama’s TOP 10 Haunted Places

A Haunted House in Columbia, Alabama Columbia Manor is a famous #haunted mansion that was built in 1864. Originally the manor was meant to be a college, #Columbia Institute; later becoming a hospital, which housed patients that were being quarantined due to having the physical ailment known as #Pellagra. Pellagra is an illness that is caused by a deficiency in nicotinic acid (tryptophan). Patients with Pellagra have an over-reliance for corn as a staple in their diet; they are also depicted with severe dermatitis, diarrhea, and mental disturbances such as dementia, which ultimately lead to their untimely death. #Columbia Manor later became a private residence; it is currently one of the #top ten haunted spots in Alabama. This article is going to be about what the mansion was like preceding the time it became a haunted mansion. Dying from Pellagra was not the only thing the residents of the Columbia Manor had to fear. There were several cases of death by suicide; one case of which was that of a Dr. John Yarborough, in which he committed suicide in the living room of the manor after his wife confronted him regarding an extramarital affair he had been having with a nurse. The nurse was also said to have hung herself from a chandelier that was in the vestibule located in the front entrance. It is believed that when there is an unwanted death, what remains behind is an unwanted presence. It has also been rumored that when the manor was sold and refurbished to its original Victorian splendor, a few of the previous residents and guests wanted to make others aware of their presence. These have become increasingly active with every renovation that is done. Many strange #paranormal events have occurred at the Columbia Manor, such as tools or other items disappearing and then mysteriously showing up in the very spot in which they disappeared from. There have also been indications of odd feelings, cold spots and even foreign scents. There has even been the unexplainable sound of footprints creeping up the old, staircase.
